                               -A Word of Encouragement-

                                "When You Don't Understand"

The bible says in Matthew chapter 2 verse 3, When Herod the king heard that the Wise Men were around town asking about the new born king that he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Which also implies that while the Wise Men were there in Jerusalem, they did not have an answer on the location of Jesus. Do you not know that even for the believer, those of us who are on this spiritual journey, it is important that we understand that there will be those times in our own lives when we are without an answer.

There will be those times of perplexity, when we just don’t know, we cannot explain it, we just don’t understand it.

But the Wise men give us a wonderful example of what it means to persevere through the perplexity
They kept asking around, and they finally had a conversation with King Herod.

King Herod had counselled with the chief priest, and they told him where this child was to be born. And Herod in return (with ill intent) directed the wise men to Bethlehem.

There is something most beautiful in this part of the text regarding the star led them to Jerusalem. After arriving there, they had to stop and ask where Jesus was located. After spending time enquiring, Herod tells them where to go, and they leave Herod.

And right after they leave Herod’s presence, the same star that led them to Jerusalem was the same star which reappeared and led them to Bethlehem!

Even though they were in a momentary time of perplexity, God never left them. It looks as if God was allowing the Wise men to just drop by to see little King Herod on their way to see the Great King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords.

Remember that in those times when we don't know, God knows and understands it all.

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. Daniel 2:22
